Research Methodology

Mintel has been providing marketing and research analysis for over thirty years. Over that period, we've made significant changes to our content, presentation and delivery systems - yet the basic methodology which underpins our reports has proven so reliable and popular with our clients, it has remained a constant.

The essential ingredients which comprise a Mintel report have remained: the research we commission specifically for the report; market data which have been produced elsewhere by other parties; and the views of people who make their livelihoods from the market under analysis. Or, primary, secondary and trade sources.

Of course, numbers and data on their own are only half the story. Hence it is the job of our writers and analysts to make sense of the data, presenting it in cogent, well informed and insightful analysis.
